Setting up Hosting for your website can be a little daunting as there's so many options and features to a host. You need a host to store your website online for people to see and they have very simple interfaces so anyone can upload their websites on to the internet with ease.
I recommended that you use Host Clear for your hosting company as I have over 10 websites on their hosting service and never had one problem!
If you want to use another hosting company then look out for these features:
- Unlimited Hosting Space (the amount of data you can store online)
- Unlimited Bandwidth (the amount of data that your websites can send out)
- Word Press Add on (a really simple program that creates your website for you without any coding know-how)
- Email Accounts (you can have the email address: yourname@yourdomainname.com)
- Unlimited Add-on Domains (you can have several domain names on the same server)
- 24/7 Technical Support (very important if your site goes down or you need help)
Setting up hosting on HostClear.com
First of all open up HostClear by clicking on this link (it will open in a new tab/window).
Make sure you have the right currency selected before you begin.
Type in the domain name you wish to have in the box - tips on picking the right domain name can be found back in step 2.
Click "GO" to proceed...
If you see this screen then somebody already has the domain your after! Don't despair, you can use the left box to try out another domain name that might be free until you find one.
Once you have found a free domain name fill in the details and chose your payment method (card or paypal - card is better in the long run).
Chose the plan best suited for you; you may want to pay per month but if you chose a longer period it'll become instantly cheaper per month. Test out all the plans and see what changes in the costs until you get it right.
Well done that's it; you've successfully set up your hosting plan with a great domain name! Now to move on to step 3 in the guide...
