wordpress addon

Wordpress is a great tool for people who don't know how to code HTML or just want to make a website quickly. When you get the hang of using it you can make an entire niche website in about 10 minutes and quickly earn money from your keyword term!

Word-press has been designed to automatically aid "Search Engine Optimization" which is more commonly known as SEO.

SEO helps search engines like Google to easily read all the text on your website and get a general idea what the page's topic is all about.

Why is Wordpress website better than other types of websites?

Normal HTML websites require you to have these things:

  1. Coding Skills
  2. SEO Knowledge
  3. HTML Editing Software
  4. Graphical Editing Software
  5. A Lot of Spare Time

None of those things listed are needed to use Wordpress; plus once set up, using it is child's play!
(see Step 3 if you haven't already got your website set-up)

Changing the way new pages are named

We want to make our niche site as easy to access by Google as possible and that begins with changing the way Wordpress creates page names:

wordpress dashboard

Once you have logged into your website you'll be presented with the WP dashboard and you need to click on the "Settings" tab.

permalinks tab

Now click on the "Permalinks" tab.

permalink settings

Select "Custom Structure", type in %postname% and save you changes.

That's it; now new pages on your blog will have the same name as the post (if that makes sense!), here's an example below:

not a good idea for a niche If you make a post titled "muscle bulking secrets" using the default settings then the page would be named something like this: http://muscle-growth.co.uk/?p=321

not a good idea for a niche If you make a post titled "muscle bulking secrets" using my settings then the page would be named exactly like this: http://muscle-growth.co.uk/muscle-bulking-secrets

Now as you can see this URL is much, much better than the original PLUS it has added benefits of adding keywords to the URL so it'll be easier to rank in Google for those words. Remember the higher you rank in Google the more traffic you'll receive so this little change will increase your niche earnings, brilliant!

SEO Plugins

You can install "plugins" into Wordpress; these add more features to your blog and again they're free to install.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) makes your website do it's utter-most best in the search engines. Luckily someone has made a plugin for Wordpress that sorts all the complicated SEO out for you automatically!

Using this plugin will increase your presence in Google by about 20% so it's well worth doing:

install plugins on wordpress

Click the "Plugins" tab and then choose "Add New".

In the box type "all in one seo" and press search.

all in one seo pack plugin

Home TitleAdd your main niche keyword here
Home DescriptionWrite a short description about your website using slight variations of your main niche keyword or synonyms (click here to find out what "synonyms" means if you don't know). Keep the description under 22 words and only mention keywords once or twice or it'll look spammy to Google.
Home KeywordsAdd your main niche keyword and two variations of it.

update options

Don't forget to save these changes and then you've completed installing this SEO plugin for Wordpress.

XML Sitemap Plugin

One last plug-in to install is "Google XML Sitemap"; a Sitemap is a list of all the pages on a website. When a search engine like Google finds a site-map it then knows about EVERY page on that entire website and which URL's to find them; this way no pages get skipped out when the search engine spiders crawl the site.

install google xml sitemap plugin

Go to the plugin section again and add a new plugin. This plugin is called "Google XML Sitemap" so search for that.

Install the plugin on to your Wordpress blog as shown like before:

install now

activate sitemap plugin

Make sure the plugin is activated so it works and then you've finished this step, well done!
